1. Who we are
visainterview.in is operated by Seqnova Ventures LLP (“we”, “us”, “our”), a limited liability partnership registered in India with its office in Mohali, Punjab.
If you have any questions or want to exercise your rights under this policy, write to hello@visainterview.in.
2. What information we collect
We collect information you give us directly:
- Account details: your name, email address, and a password (stored as a cryptographic hash, never in plain text).
- Visa case details: when you upload a DS-160 or fill the manual form, we collect the information on it, including personal details like your passport number, date of birth, nationality, home address, family members, employment, education, funding sources, and travel history.
- Supplemental responses: your answers to follow-up questions about ties to home, financial picture, interview logistics, and concerns.
- Practice session content: when you use our practice feature, your answers to mock interview questions and the feedback generated for you. If you choose voice mode, we briefly capture the audio of your answer so it can be transcribed; only the transcribed text and a small set of delivery metrics (words per minute, filler count) are kept after transcription.
- Post-interview outcomes: if you respond to our outcome survey after your real interview, we collect the outcome you report (approved, refused, 221(g), etc.), an optional preparedness score, an optional list of questions you remember being asked, and an optional written testimonial together with the consent level you choose for it. See section 4 below for how testimonials are handled.
We also automatically collect technical information when you use the service: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and basic session logs. This helps us keep the service running and debug issues.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Personalise your practice: your DS-160 and supplemental responses shape the questions you see and the feedback you receive.
- Keep you signed in: standard session cookies and authentication tokens.
- Communicate with you: account confirmation, password resets, welcome and onboarding messages, an interview-day reminder if you have entered your interview date, a post-interview outcome survey to ask how it went, and direct replies to your queries.
- Improve the service: anonymised usage patterns help us fix bugs and improve question quality.
- Comply with the law: when required by valid legal process.
We do not use your case data to train third-party AI models. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Where your data is stored
Our primary database is hosted on Supabase. Depending on your region, data may be stored in Mumbai or other Supabase regions. AI processing by OpenAI occurs in the United States. Email delivery by Resend also occurs in the United States.
This means your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside India, including the United States. We rely on standard contractual safeguards provided by each service provider to protect your data during transfer.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account data: for as long as your account is active.
- Visa case data, DS-160 uploads, supplemental responses: for as long as your account is active, or until you delete them.
- AI call logs and usage logs: typically for 12 months, then summarised or deleted.
- Backups: may persist for up to 30 days after deletion.
If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, subject to any legal hold. We may retain anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you.
